Most panel shops handle cars and take a truck occasionally. We built Max Smash Repairs the other way around — the equipment, the floor space, the paint ovens and the team are all specified for heavy vehicles first. That means a prime mover cab, a full-length coach and a mobile crane can all be assessed and repaired properly on the same site, by people who work on them every day.
We have operated from the same Smithfield premises since 1984 and remain family owned. We are an authorised PPG refinisher and an approved repairer for all major insurance companies for commercial and heavy vehicle claims.

Structural and Chassis Work
Laser chassis and axle alignment rated for heavy vehicle geometry, rail straightening, steering geometry resetting and structural correction on plant equipment frames. This is the capability that separates a heavy vehicle workshop from a car shop with a big door.
Panel Repair and Replacement
Cab corners, doors, guards, steps, body panels and glazed panel surrounds — repaired to factory standard, or replaced where repair is not the right answer.
Paint and Refinishing
Pressurised paint baking ovens sized for a prime mover cab or full-length coach, PPG-authorised colour matching and mixing, infrared smart-repair lamps for faster turnaround, and heavy-duty coating systems specified for plant working outdoors.
Sheet Metal Fabrication
In-house fabrication of panels, guards, brackets and fittings — for older vehicles, imported models and plant equipment where the part is simply not available to order.
Fibreglass Repair
Bus and coach body sections, plant equipment housings and panels where fibreglass rather than steel is the base material.
Safety and Compliance Equipment
Reflective markings and signage reinstatement, lighting assemblies, emergency exits, wheelchair lifts and ramps, load chart plates and capacity decals — reinstated and function-tested as part of the job rather than left for someone else.
Tail Lift and Hydraulic Repairs
Tail lift platforms, hoses and hydraulic rams repaired and tested after collision damage or breakdown.
Servicing Sydney From Smithfield
Our workshop is at 33–35 Chifley Street, Smithfield, in the middle of Western Sydney’s industrial corridor. We regularly work with operators across Fairfield, Wetherill Park, Prospect, Blacktown, Parramatta, Liverpool, Silverwater, Eastern Creek, Erskine Park, Moorebank, Greystanes and Yennora, and take work from across the greater Sydney region.
If a vehicle or machine cannot be driven or transported in safely, we arrange pick-up and delivery so the job is not held up before it starts.
